| San
Miguel de Salinas is a Spanish market town on Spain's southern Costa Blanca
and it enjoys 300 days of sunshine a year on average. The area is renowned
for the unique microclimate and heralded by the World Health Organisation
as one of the healthiest places to live in the world. |
| Each
Wednesday there is an extensive street market just three minutes walk from
the apartment. The apartment is just two minutes stroll from the High Street
so, all amenities are close to hand. |
| The
town itself is surrounded by orange and lemon groves and is easily accessible
with a good road network from the airports of Murcia and Alicante. |
| Situated
some 10 minutes drive from the coast, there is easy access to sandy beaches
such as Guardamar del Segura, Cabo Roig etc |
| The
town of Torrevieja is about 7 miles away. It is a popular resort, almost
surrounded by two natural salt water lagoons which are a haven for wildlife
including flamingos. These lagoons are visible from the apartment solarium
as are the twinkling lights of Torrevieja behind them on a warm summer's
evening. |
| Torrevieja
has a large marina, superb promoenade, an abundance of cafes/restaurants
and boasts an artisan market close to the marina which is perfect for an
evening stroll. |
| Further
afield (within an hours drive) are Alicante, Murcia, Elche and the Mar Menor.
Benidorm is about 90 minutes drive northwards whilst a similar drive inland
would take you to two health spas/mineral hot springs (Archena & Fortuna)
beautifully set with mountains, palm trees, orange and lemon groves. Here
you can bathe in 30 degrees C in the winter months. |
